Wow! great reviews of Dronikus

From a short review by Dr. Kathryn Brimblecombe-Fox

Dronikus, by Marko Newman, is a compelling speculative near-future novel that takes the reader on a journey from a dystopic world to one that ultimately seems more promising. The story takes place in an ambiguous country on an Earth where ecological disaster and techno-hubristic megalomania are clear extensions of our contemporary world....

In an age where accelerating technological developments require critical and imaginative scrutiny, Dronikus is an example of speculative fiction’s catalytic agency to provoke wonder and questions....

Was totally engrossed from the first page in this challenging story which confronts one with the day to day reality of what is happening in our world. The devastation of climate change and man’s part in destroying our planet as well as the power of money and the corporate world over us all.
However the thread of humanity and compassion carried by the main character and his fellow activists gives us hope that things can change for the better.

A great compelling read.

Review by Jane Treffrey-Goatley

Dronikus is an epic near-future tale. A cross between Minority Report, Hunger Games and the Six O'clock News - a little too familiar to completely settle into the story with dispassionate delight - although a delight it is.
This very inhuman, inhumane, and human story is a clarion call to find
what makes us human and hold dearly to it - in the face of the all-too-familiar corporate greed and political fear.
Someone give Dronikus a movie deal! I can’t wait to see this page-turner on the big screen.

Review by Andrew McLean

I finished Dronikus yesterday morning. Well written and a great story, I shed a few tears at the end. It offers hope that we may yet save this little old planet that we live on and alerts us to the forces that we will have to overcome

Review by Ridley Kennedy

Dronikus was a thrilling and insightful read that challenged me to face issues that I would prefer to avoid. I was captivated by the story of Zola and his comrades as they fought against the havoc wreaked in large part by his brothers Enrike and Meriti. The story helped me reflect on the problems of our world and gave me a glimpse of hope. Marko, you are a great writer. Thank you for this amazing book.

Review by Sue Jakubczyk

Read this book at your own risk: it kept me up most of the night! A fast moving tale of future horrors and hopes. Marko has drawn on a rich imagination to offer a visually and emotionally engaging narrative. One for our times!
